Easter time rolled around during Grandma and Grandpa's visit. We like to celebrate "Spring Day" with the baskets, candy and egg hunt and do something more Christ-centered on Easter Sunday.
This year the weather was not conducive to an egg hunt outside. In the last couple of years we have had a combined hunt with a couple other families. This year the plan was to expand and invite several more. The weather did not cooperate. It was cold, windy and wet with snow.
Chris and I made baskets for the kids and one for Grandma and Grandpa to find on Saturday, our Spring Day. The had fun hunting for their baskets around the house and enjoyed the goodies.
I brought more eggs with treats inside
But in the yard there is snow outside.
So I'll save the eggs for one more week,
When there's snow on Spring Day that's just not funny!
From yours truly,
The Easter Bunny
Plans were made and the following week we had big group of friends and kids over to hunt eggs. The weather was chilly but the snow was gone.
It was General Conference weekend so we decided on an early time for the hunt and had a potluck brunch before everyone headed home to catch the first session of conference.
We had three babies (one slept through most of it so I didn't get his picture) and 14 kids ranging in age from 18 mo-8 yrs. We also had so many eggs they all got to find 17!
(Chris strung up lights and cleaned out the garage so we would have room for everyone to eat!)
It was so much fun!! Gatherings with so many friends and kids can be a little harried but it was well worth it for the kids and the adults! Friends, food and treats is hard to beat!
