First Day of School

Unlike other places, here in Greendale they are rather sensible (in my opinion) and start school after Labor Day.

Noah started first grade on 4 September. He was really looking forward to it. We went the previous week to a meet the teacher/get settled in night at the school.
It allowed him to get familiar with his "classroom" (his school has no walls around the classrooms), where to hang his things and some of the teachers he would have for the year.
His main teacher was there that night but due to deliver her baby any day. So, Noah has a long-term sub for the first three months of the school year.  His sub is a teacher he had part-time last year since his K-5 teacher had special responsibilities a few times a week.  Familiarity is good for him I think, especially when most other things would be different for him this year.
Ian started his preschool on 5 September.  He is going 3 days a week for about 2 1/2 hours.  He has Mrs. Dankle and Mrs. Patnaude, just like Noah did.
We are looking forward to a great year and are excited to move the Playschool into the new addition they will complete around Christmas time.
Before school started to there needed to be a little Labor Day fun.  Chris' cousin John and his family came over for a little water balloon fight fun and some lunch.

There was quite the battle and in the end I am not sure who won or lost.  Except maybe John.  He was soaked!

Those were some great water balloon action shots. And I think you're right about John losing! That was really fun to hang out with you guys on Labor Day.

Wow, first grade? Seems like just the other day I watched baby Noah while you closed on your house. :) And then trying to sleep at your house when Ian was born and Malcolm scratching at the door... Doesn't feel that long ago!
